Great Review

by La Forge on 06/21/17

Lovely email from our guests who spent a week at La Forge recently:

"Just wanted to say we had a lovely time at La Forge last week.

We loved the cottage, the area and the beaches are fabulous.

We went for a walk at Agon - Courtainville on Sunday, cycled to Portbail and Barnville on Wednesday and went to Sciotot yesterday morning.

We also cycled to Monte Castre , St Patrice de Claids and Gorges, it's such a lovely area.

Also went to Bayeaux , Mont St Michel and D Day beaches.

Thanks, would love to stay there again."

The Plan For La Forge 11

by La Forge on 06/09/17

La Forge 11 Plan

Friday 14th:

Collect main party from ferryport at 11.30 am. The plan is to stop off on the way back for a lunch at Portbail, on the west coast of La Manche. You'll have a good opportunity to sample French cafe culture and experience a walk beside the sea.

The evening will be an informal buffet of breads, cheese, snacks and wine and/or beer. It will get messy though!

Saturday 15th:

After a continental breakfast of croissants and pain au chocolat and a nice cup of tea or coffee there will be an opportunity to visit the local supermarket to pick up additional supplies like 'spirits' if required.

On Saturday lunchtime we will head to St Saviour de Vicomte. It's a nice little French village with a couple of cafe bars and a chance for the more adventurous to go kayaking. We will probably need to book the kayaks or canoes so please let us know if you are interested to avoid disappointment.

Saturday evening is for the main fancy dress party with a French fancy dress theme (avoid Marie Antionette and Louis XVI). There will be a BBQ with veggie, fish and meat options. There will be plenty of beer, wine and cider!

The band will be playing a short set at 20.30pm (that's Andy Kev and Lards) and there will be time for other performers if anyone else fancies it, but we'll go on first!

Sunday 16th:

After a continental breakfast we'll have a darts tournament to see if current champion Jess or runner up Andy can be beaten! We'll be heading back to Cherbourg around midday so that you can visit shops and bars (The Eldorado!) before catching the ferry home
